Job summary

CentraCare Health is seeking a Financial Patient Account Assistant to support guarantors with billing issues, determine payment options, and follow up on accounts to resolution. The role involves handling bankruptcy, adjustments, and communications with government agencies, attorneys, and third parties.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of billing and collection principles and healthcare regulations preferred.
• Two years healthcare or collection experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, listening and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist guarantors in resolving all billing issues.
• Determine acceptable payment options and follow up on accounts until conclusion.
• Handle bankruptcy and other adjustments and communicate with agencies and attorneys.
• Guide guarantors on applying for financial assistance when applicable.
• Contribute to favorable patient account handling to minimize bad debts.
