Job summary

Montana Legislative Audit Division is seeking a Financial Compliance Auditor to perform a variety of financial and compliance audit tasks. You will interview agency personnel, test controls, and use analytics to evaluate transaction cycles, drawing conclusions and collaborating with teammates.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and accounting coursework; CPA licensure is preferred but not required. The role is based in Helena, MT with telework up to half the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree by start of employment.
• 6 semester hours (or equivalent) of accounting coursework including intermediate accounting.
• CPA license or intent to sit for CPA exam is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Interview personnel at audited agencies.
• Test controls and account balances.
• Use analytics to evaluate transaction cycles.
• Draw conclusions on audit work.
