Arizona Auditor General is seeking a Financial Auditor I to conduct financial and compliance audits of state agencies, counties, universities, and community college districts. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree with accounting hours and a CPA is a plus. Occasional travel is possible as part of audits.

Salary is determined by degree and credentials, with ranges from $60,000 to $69,000. The position is based in Phoenix, AZ with comprehensive benefits and retirement options through

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree with 24 completed semester hours of accounting.
• Strong interest in public service and improving State government.
• Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Must have valid Arizona's driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Help conduct financial and compliance audits of State agencies, counties, universities, and community college districts following AICPA's generally accepted auditing standards, the U.S. GAO's Government Auditing Standards, and other federal auditing requirements.
• Occasionally travel out of town to conduct audits.
