Job summary

Duke Energy in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Financial Analyst to deliver accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis support to the Power Grid Operations Midwest unit. You will collaborate with business customers to analyze variances, trends and plans to drive informed decisions.

The role blends technical and functional finance skills, with responsibilities including journal entries, reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
• 1+ year (2+ for level II) of increasingly diverse or complex experience.
• Fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with financial applications (PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan) and WebI.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial, accounting, and business management analytical support to management and customers.
• Budget development for supported functions.
• Evaluate and report budget variances for accurate financial reporting and year-end projections.
• Support the reporting process within the region to explain variances and impacts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals as needed.
• Perform account reconciliations and coordinate with auditors.
