Job summary

The University of Washington Bothell seeks a Counselor to administer and evaluate student financial aid eligibility, advising students by phone, email, and in person. This full-time hybrid role requires interpreting complex regulations and applying policies to awards and cost of attendance.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will manage scholarships, generate professional judgments, and collaborate with Admissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years in higher education student services, preferably in financial aid or related field.
• Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist students on financial aid and scholarships via phone, email, and in-person.
• Verify or correct FAFSA information and adjust awards per regulations.
• Review reports and analyze data to adjust aid packages accordingly.
• Coordinate UW Bothell General Scholarship process twice per academic year.
• Conduct community outreach and coordinate workshops and presentations.
• Stay current on federal, state, and institutional aid changes and policies.
