Job summary

UC Irvine seeks a Financial Aid Advisor to help students and families navigate federal, state, and university financial aid programs. The role analyzes student data, verifies documentation, and processes aid eligibility evaluations.

This is a hybrid position with on-site days to be determined. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, knowledge of aid policies, and strong counseling and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of policies for awarding financial aid.
  • Knowledge of student loan programs, funding processes, Federal regulations.
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures.
  • Strong advising and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to apply policy to individual situations.
  • Problem identification and attention to accuracy in calculations.
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 1-3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students and parents on all aspects of financial aid.
  • Analyze student data and verify documentation for eligibility for aid programs.
  • Process documents for initial and follow-up evaluation of student files.
