Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources seeks a Financial Operations Accountant to support the Budget and Finance office in Raleigh. You will analyze NCFS and IHRPS reports, reconcile payroll, prepare journal vouchers, and generate NCFS reports for staff weekly. You’ll verify BD701 details, handle salary reserve issues, and review budget actions submitted by HR managers under a hybrid telework policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline with 18 accounting hours.
• Knowledge of NCFS and IHRPS accounting structures is preferred.
• Experience with BD701 reports, NCFS journal entries and sales tax entries.

Responsibilities

• Analyze NCFS and IHRPS reports to oversee invoices for ~30 contracts and reconcile BD701 salary data.
• Research salary reserve discrepancies between IHRPS and IBIS; ensure proper payroll reconciliations.
• Perform sales tax duties and key journal vouchers in NCFS.
• Review budget actions submitted by HR managers to ensure correct cost codes.
• Create NCFS reports for departmental staff on a weekly basis.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance or public administration with 18 semester hours of accounting
