Job summary

The University of Virginia in Charlottesville is seeking a Finance & Business Manager / Director of Finance. This hybrid, in-person role oversees financial activities across UVA Business Services, with focus on the UVA Bookstore and related units.

Strong leadership, budgeting, and reporting skills are essential for success. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience (Manager) or 6+ years with 2+ years in management (Director).

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required; CPA/CFA/CMA is a plus.
• Five years of relevant professional experience for Manager; 6+ years for Director with 2+ years of managerial experience.
• Experience in leadership of budget, financial operations, and/or financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and oversee daily services of the business office in compliance with University policies.
• Coordinate implementation of financial policies and improvements to enhance performance.
• Support development, analysis and monitoring of the annual budget.
• Analyze financial data to support reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Prepare financial statements and provide recommendations to management.
• Support quarterly operating activity reports and year-end projections.
