Job summary

Penn E&R is seeking a Survey Instrument Technician for our Pittsburgh, PA office with a hybrid work-from-home option. The role centers on field surveys, data collection, and support for pipelines and oil & gas projects across PA, OH, WV with occasional travel.

You’ll operate Total Station and GPS gear, perform office tasks, and report to the Director of Civil Survey. Qualifications include a two-year surveying background or an associate degree, plus proficiency with Survey Pro, Civil 3D, and

Qualifications

• Two years in instrument surveying or an associate degree with survey experience.
• Ability to perform field and office duties safely in varying conditions.
• Familiarity with GPS and data collection equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey instruments in boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
• Assist with data collection, notes, and field documentation for projects.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment and enforce safety practices.
• Support multiple service lines and travel as needed.
