Job summary

Ubiquity is seeking a Tier II Technician in Keller, TX for hybrid onsite/remote work. You will support deployment, activation, and advanced troubleshooting of fiber services, acting as the escalation point for CSR, NOC, and field operations.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills for optical, transport, and CPE issues, plus experience with GPON/XGS-PON networks and customer premises equipment. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote fiber service turn-ups, including ONT/OLT activation, configuration validation, and service testing.
• Verify optical levels, signal quality, and service parameters during installations and upgrades.
• Coordinate with field technicians to resolve light-level discrepancies, equipment issues, or physical plant problems.
• Validate proper provisioning of customer services across multiple platforms.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex service-impacting issues from CSR, NOC, and field operations.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic connectivity issues including optical signal loss and provisioning anomalies.
• Analyze data from network monitoring tools and OTDR traces to determine root cause.
• Work within network systems to reset or reconfigure equipment as needed.
