Job summary

Red Ventures (Charlotte, NC) seeks a Lead Engineering Technician to oversee base building systems, coordinate preventive maintenance, and supervise two technicians. You will manage contractors, ensure safety and compliance, and support emergency response.

The role blends on-site and remote work across two buildings in a hybrid schedule. You will leverage CMMS and BAS tools, diagnose issues, optimize energy use, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or technical/vocational training in building engineering, facilities management, mechanical systems, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of commercial building engineering, facilities maintenance, or building operations experience, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• 1+ year of supervisory or lead technician experience.
• Experience managing outsourced vendors and service contracts.
• Working knowledge of commercial building systems (HVAC, BAS, low-voltage controls, 480V electrical, plumbing).
• Proficiency with CMMS or facilities management software, BAS interfaces, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical owner of all base building systems (HVAC, BAS, electrical, plumbing, roofing, life safety, generators).
• Build and manage the campus preventive maintenance program in the CMMS and perform routine rounds, BAS monitoring, and first-line HVAC checks.
• Direct minor electrical, plumbing, and general repairs within licensing limits and coordinate licensed trades.
• Perform root-cause analysis on chronic issues and recommend repairs, replacements, and energy efficiency opportunities.
• Supervise two Facilities Technicians, including assigning work, scheduling, and reviews.
• Serve as the facilities point of contact for tenant maintenance requests and lease compliance.
• Manage outsourced HVAC contractor and vendors, including scope, quotes, renewals, and performance tracking.
