Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Senior Engineering Design Manager in the Exteriors Engineering Design Team at the Warren Tech Center. You will lead a large group of engineers and DLTs, overseeing staffing, training, prioritization, and performance to deliver exterior vehicle programs with strong technical solutions.

Success requires hands-on leadership, product development experience, and a solid grounding in engineering systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology required.
• 8+ years of experience in Design, including leadership experience.
• Experience in product development and design/release activities.
• Strong knowledge of engineering systems and processes (e.g., GxDP, GSTS, VIS Mock-up, GPDS, engineering release systems, GD&T, specifications, Global BOM).
• Experience leading teams and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical leadership and guide the team to successful execution of vehicle programs with strong technical solutions.
• Develop new products, processes, standards, or operational plans with direct impact on business results.
• Influence others within the organization to accept new concepts and approaches.
• Promote GM's values and make customer-focused decisions.
• Staffing, communicating, training and development, directing and prioritization of work, evaluating performance and removing roadblocks.
