Job summary

General Motors' Exterior Team is seeking a Design Release Engineer to lead exterior subsystems (bumper, grille, fascia and trim) and release interfaces with suppliers, design studios, and manufacturing. You will define requirements, review designs, and drive on-time, quality releases across the program.

In this hybrid on-site role at the Warren Tech Center, you will balance cost, mass, and timing, support design reviews, and help create ICDs/DFMEAs while collaborating across cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Design Release Engineer or in a related role.
• Proficiency with NX, Teamcenter, or Unigraphics.
• Experience in vehicle development cycles from concept to production.
• Strong program management and communication skills.
• Ability to solve physics-based problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in large cross-functional Product Development Teams.
• Ensure in-house designs meet program milestones with quality.
• Design and package BGFT components and directed-buy sensors, cameras, and harnesses.
• Develop criteria and interface with studio for surface development.
• Balance subsystem cost, timing, mass, and warranty.
