Job summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced Estimator III to lead, coordinate, and finalize full estimates on large, complex work. The role blends leadership with hands-on quantity takeoffs and collaboration with design teams and owners in a hybrid office setting across multiple U.S. locations including Minneapolis.

The candidate will manage multiple projects, utilize BIM and estimating tools, and contribute to competitive bid strategies with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum six years in the construction industry.
• Ability to lead multiple projects and estimators on large jobs.
• Experience with BIM, plans and project documents for quantity takeoffs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and cost history tools.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and schedule estimate preparation.
• Facilitate kick-off, status updates, and final reviews.
• Assign work to ensure complete, reliable estimates.
• Review documents including BIM and design owner communications.
• Determine trade partner strategy and prepare invitations to bid.
• Complete quantity surveys and fill gaps in early design documents.
• Promote collaboration for scope and budget alignment.
