Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. seeks an Entry to Mid-Level Environmental Scientist to support fieldwork and groundwater remediation projects in Batavia, IL, with a hybrid work model.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science and 1–4 years of related experience, including any UST experience, and strong communication, analytical and organizational skills. You’ll perform sampling, data collection, and report preparation while adhering to federal and state

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• 1–4 years of related experience; UST experience is a major plus.
• Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling, gauging and product bailing, and surveying.
• Participate in monitoring well installations and sampling events.
• Compile and complete field notes on each event/site.
• Record data, prepare reports, and provide analysis and interpretations of findings.
• Complete quarterly groundwater monitoring reports.
• Perform hydrogeological assessments regarding groundwater flows to identify contamination impact and related concerns.
• Research geological formations and soil delineation studies and prepare reports and geological maps.
