Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to support fieldwork and remediation project activities in Batavia, IL.

You will perform groundwater sampling, assist with monitoring wells, and help prepare field notes and reports. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in geology or environmental science and 1–4 years of related experience, with UST familiarity considered a major plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science or related field.
• 1–4 years of related experience; UST experience is a major plus.
• Detail-oriented, team player with excellent communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling, gauging and product bailing, and surveying.
• Participate in monitoring well installations and sampling events.
• Compile field notes and report data with analysis and interpretations.
• Complete quarterly groundwater monitoring reports.
• Perform hydrogeological assessments regarding groundwater flows and contamination impacts.
• Research geological formations and prepare maps based on findings.
• Identify remedial solutions compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
