GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. seeks an Entry Level Environmental Engineer/Scientist in Oak Brook, IL to support environmental due diligence, site investigation, remediation and permitting projects. You will gain field experience, work with teams, and contribute to regulatory compliance efforts.

The role emphasizes a solid educational background in environmental fields, strong attention to detail, and readiness for hands-on fieldwork with occasional travel and flexible hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's Degree a plus)
• 1-2 years of related environmental engineering experience
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities
• Perform technical execution of projects under the supervision of project managers
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or in a team setting
• Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite
• Availability to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel locally and regionally
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and FE/EIT certification a plus
• Database, CADD, or ArcGIS a plus

Responsibilities

• Support environmental due diligence, site investigation and remediation, and regulatory compliance and permitting projects.
• Perform extensive fieldwork and document data collection with drilling teams and sampling activities.
• Prepare detailed field documentation, data analysis and reporting in a professional office setting.
• Collaborate with Scientists, Engineers and Project Managers to execute projects successfully.
