Job summary

Georgia Department of Public Health (GA) seeks an Environmental Health County Manager to lead countywide environmental health programs and staff from the DeKalb Division. The role directs regulatory functions, inspections, and enforcement to protect public health.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 4 years of regulatory experience, and a valid driver's license with countywide travel. A REHS/RS certification is preferred. Hybrid telework is available after probation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Engineering or closely related field.
• Four (4) years of professional experience in environmental health or related regulatory field.
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license; ability to travel countywide.

Responsibilities

• Directs, manages, and evaluates countywide environmental health programs and personnel.
• Oversees regulatory, permitting, inspection, and enforcement activities.
• Provides leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to staff.
• Responds to environmental health incidents and coordinates with partners.
• Represents the Division to stakeholders and public audiences.
