Job summary
The Fulton County Board of Health in Atlanta is seeking a PH Envir Compl Specialist 4 to support the Environmental Health Services division. Under limited supervision, you will inspect facilities, interview staff, and perform technical reviews to protect public health.
You will investigate complaints, recommend enforcement actions, and may serve in a lead role or supervise staff across one or more counties. A Bachelor’s degree with lab science hours is required, plus relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences and one year of experience in a lower level specialist role.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, interviews, and technical reviews for an environmental health program.
- Investigate complaints and recommend enforcement actions as needed.
- May lead or supervise staff and provide environmental health services across single or multi-county areas.
- Inspect food service establishments, pools, tourist accommodations, body art facilities, and onsite septic systems.
- Review plans and assist with enforcement as necessary.
