Job summary

AMT in Towson, MD is seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to join our team of design professionals. The position will start in May 2027 upon graduation and offers a hybrid (office/remote) work schedule.

You will perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, design drainage systems and stormwater management facilities, collect data for mapping and reporting, and assist in preparing plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications for advertisement and construction.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling (drainage, SWM, floodplain) with commonly used software.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam preferred.
• Design knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and reporting.
• Collect and Analyze data for mapping and reporting.
• Design of open and closed drainage systems, stormwater management facilities and erosion and sediment controls.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
