Virginia Community Colleges seeks an Entry Level Payroll Operations Specialist to process payroll, ensure accurate payments and withholdings, and support SSC customers. The role requires independent work and collaboration within the team to improve efficiency.

The position offers hybrid telework with 2 days in the Daleville, VA office and 3 days remote, with a 50k–55k salary range and benefits in a public education setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll, HR, finance, or accounting.
• Intermediate Excel experience.
• Knowledge of IRS/Payroll tax rules and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll following established policies and procedures for SSC customers.
• Ensure timely and accurate payments and withholdings.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and support Payroll Manager/Supervisor.
• Monitor Payroll Service Level Agreements and stay updated on payroll bulletins.
