Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Mid-Level Network Engineer in Virginia to design, deploy, and manage enterprise network security solutions across cloud and on-premise infrastructure. You will work on advanced firewalls and visibility tooling within a fast-paced engineering team focused on migrations and operations.

The role requires experience with NGFWs (Palo Alto), GlobalProtect, Prisma Access, and related platforms, along with strong documentation and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years with Next Generation Firewalls and enterprise network security technologies; 3+ years preferred.
• Networking (Routing, Firewall, and Switching); Palo Alto NGFW and related tools.
• Must be able to obtain customer clearance and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud and on-premise network security solutions.
• Maintain integrity of the network device estate and related management planes.
• Execute day-to-day tasks for migrations, policies, and validation.
• Create and update diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Support automation for configuration, validation, and reporting tasks.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and coordinate hardware/software acquisitions.
