Job summary

N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) is seeking an Enterprise Monitoring Specialist to design, implement, and maintain monitoring for the state’s IT infrastructure and apps. The role uses ServiceNow to reduce mean time to respond and improve service availability.

Hybrid remote work is possible with weekly onsite requirements under state policy. A relevant degree plus networking experience is expected, with opportunities to contribute to statewide enterprise monitoring initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an IT related field or related technical degree with two years of networking experience OR Associate degree with three years of networking experience OR GED with six years networking experience.
• Experience with enterprise network monitoring and large-scale IT environments.
• Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP, UDP, SNMP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-level monitoring solutions.
• Interact with customers to gather requirements and design custom monitoring solutions.
• Leverage ServiceNow Event Management for routing and resolution of events.
• Collaborate to maintain accuracy of the CMDB and service mapping.
• Provide system administration for the tools used to deliver monitoring services.
