Job summary

The State of Alaska through the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities seeks an Engineering Assistant 1/2 Flex to support traffic and safety projects in the Central Region. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or land surveying from ABET-accredited program or equivalent
• EIT/LSIT certificate or FE/FS verification (or plan to obtain within nine months)
• Flex staffing may hire at Engineering Assistant 1 or 2 level with salary determined by level

Responsibilities

• Support engineers to reduce road safety injuries and fatalities on public roads
• Conduct traffic and safety studies and analyze crash/roadway data
• Review plans, permits, reports and safety measures; provide technical comments
• Assist with traffic safety reporting, data mapping and program monitoring
• Provide engineering support for construction, maintenance, and operations and respond to requests
