Job summary

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Southcoast Region Construction in Juneau is seeking Engineering Assistants 1 or 2 (flex). These entry-level engineering roles offer training toward becoming a Project Engineer on capital improvement projects throughout the Southcoast region.

Engineering Assistants will work under supervision on construction projects, performing inspections, documentation, measurements, and quality assurance tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or land surveying meeting minimum qualifications
• Option to have ABET accreditation or Engineer-In-Training/Land Surveyor-In-Training credentials
• Flexibility to work in coastal/remote environments and travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform entry/trainee level professional engineering duties on Capital Improvement Construction Projects
• Assist in construction inspection and documentation of contractor work
• Measure completed work and ensure conformance with plans and specifications
