Job summary

PJM Interconnection is seeking a Sr. (Lead) Analyst/Engineer to support the Capacity Market Operations Department in managing a $12 billion per year market ensuring reliability of the PJM system.

You will collaborate on the auction clearing process, financial analysis, and software integration projects to implement market rule changes and upgrades, delivering robust operational processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree: Economics, Engineering, Finance, Computer Science or other similar major.
• At least 3 years of data analytics and quantitative analysis using SAS, SQL, Python or other similar tools.
• Track record that demonstrates attention to detail – verify work is complete and accurate; implement quality controls.
• Proficient with MS Excel including development and maintenance of complex workbooks.
• Customer focused with strong verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of electricity wholesale markets.

Responsibilities

• Administer the auction process and publish the analysis of the results.
• Financial analysis of power plant costs and revenues to determine default floor and cap prices used for mitigation and the price of the demand curve.
• Provide exceptional customer service to the PJM membership with clear, professional communication.
• Develop and produce performance metrics, reports, empirical analyses and presentations for transparency and operation of the PJM Capacity market.
• Collaborate to define and test system solutions for changes in market rules and improvements to processes.
• Read, analyze and understand PJM Tariff and Manuals to convert market rules into robust operational processes.
• Develop and update training material (MS PowerPoint) and assist with stakeholder training.
