Job summary

GTI Energy is seeking a Summer 2027 intern to join the Modeling and Energy Systems Analytics (MESA) Team. The intern will apply data science, modeling, analytics, statistics, or other quantitative methods to support enterprise-wide initiatives and contribute to research on low-carbon energy systems.

Based in the Chicagoland area, this on-site internship offers a hybrid work approach with remote Mondays and Fridays and required on-site presence Tuesday through Thursday, with occasional travel to

Qualifications

Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Experience with data visualization and programming libraries.
Academic background in data/quantitative field.

Responsibilities

Perform exploratory data analyses and apply statistical modeling.
Scrape and wrangle data from open-source repositories.
Create data visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders.
Develop energy systems models to study interactions of supply/demand.
