Job summary

Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment seeks an Assistant Director of Employer Relations to advance graduate student career outcomes through strategic employer partnerships. This Hybrid role blends on-site mentoring in Durham, NC with remote engagement, career coaching, and program development within the CPDC.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required with strong communications, analytical and organizational skills.
• One year of experience in a placement or student services function or equivalent.
• Two+ years of experience developing training workshops (resume/cover letter writing, job search, networking, interviewing, salary negotiation).
• Two+ years of experience engaging with employers and building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line career coaching to graduate students, helping them articulate goals and qualifications.
• Research, develop and engage employer relationships aligned with student outcomes.
• Design and implement employer engagement strategies, events, sessions and information sessions.
• Lead employer development initiatives for special programs and track outcomes with analytics.
• Collaborate with campus partners and supervise student assistants.
