Iridium is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer III in McLean, VA to join our Mobile Product Software Engineering Team. You will enhance and sustain embedded software used in our transceivers and related tools, contributing to reliable, high-performance products for customers.

The role requires hands-on design, debugging, and collaboration with hardware and system engineers. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software, 3+ years embedded work, and strong C skills; familiarity with RTOS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant software experience.
• 3+ years embedded software development.
• 4+ years C programming; ANSI C knowledge.
• Experience with OSI model, networking, and hardware subsystems.
• Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C.
• Experience with benchmarking and testing embedded software.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop embedded software for microcontrollers.
• Implement and optimize RTOS, device drivers, and communication protocols.
• Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Isolate and fix complex hardware-software integration problems.
• Manage embedded software configuration and builds.
• Write unit, regression, and integration tests for mobile software.
• Create and maintain documentation and ICDs.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, and system engineers.
