Job summary

Dräger is seeking a Software Engineer II in Andover, MA for a hybrid role requiring three days in the office. You will work with a team to design, implement, test, and support product software, focusing on architecture, quality, and cost optimization.

The position requires strong C/C++ in embedded environments, RTOS experience (ThreadX), BSPs, and testing across design, integration, and verification. FDA/IEC 62304 compliance is important.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years hands-on software design and debugging in an engineering environment (1-3 years with a MS degree).
• Ability to provide code and design feedback and communicate internally.
• Strong C/C++ development experience in an embedded environment.
• Experience with RTOS (ThreadX) and embedded systems debugging.
• Familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
• Experience developing, integrating, or maintaining BSPs and device drivers.

Responsibilities

• Develop product software architecture, design, implementation and testing.
• Improve procedures to optimize development efficiency and software quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and test personnel across design, integration, and test phases.
• Diagnose, debug and resolve defects with minimal supervision; design small modules.
• Comply with SOPs and FDA/IEC 62304 requirements.
• Provide feedback during code and design reviews.
