Job summary

Teradyne Inc. in North Reading, MA seeks an Embedded Firmware (Linux) Engineer to develop the embedded BSP for Teradyne instruments and influence processor and OS choices. You will work with hardware, software, and systems teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable code and automated tests.

You will design and validate Linux BSP components, integrate development tools, and participate in open source communities, with a hybrid on-site schedule (3 days/wk) and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• BS required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science from a top university or engineering institution
• 5+ years of embedded firmware experience
• Experience with Embedded Linux BSP development (Devicetrees, U-Boot, building and deploying Linux)
• C/C++ coding proficiency (11 or newer) and scripting (Python, Bash)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Docker, CMake, Yocto
• Experience with Linux, I2C, SPI, PCIe, Ethernet, USB
• Strong debugging, problem solving, and collaboration in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, verify, and validate Linux BSP and userspace tools for automated test equipment
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering to provide interfaces to complex hardware
• Develop scalable, high-performance, maintainable code and test automation
• Contribute to open source communities (Linux kernel, U-Boot) and participate in peer-reviewed processes
