Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain software for Linux-based embedded systems and test platforms.

You will work with hardware and OS components, develop robust APIs, and collaborate with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers to deliver high-performance solutions used in advanced semiconductor test systems. Proficiency in C/C++, Linux, and Python is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C and C++ software development for embedded and system-level applications.
• Experience developing software on Linux platforms, including user-space applications, device drivers, bootloaders, and cross-compilation environments.
• Experience debugging complex hardware/software integration issues and multithreaded applications.
• Experience with embedded communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe, or similar technologies.
• Experience applying AI-assisted tools to software engineering.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python for automation, testing, and tooling.
• Experience in test, instrumentation, and automation domains.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
