Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA, seeks a Jr. Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop the embedded board support package for Teradyne instruments, guiding processor, OS, and tooling choices.

You will collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems teams to build scalable, high-performance Linux-based solutions, automate build and test, and contribute to open source projects within the Teradyne ecosystem.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science.
• 2+ years of embedded firmware experience.
• Experience with Embedded Linux BSP development (Devicetrees, u-boot, building Linux).
• Strong C/C++ coding skills and scripting ability (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and debugging across embedded hardware.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement Linux BSP and userspace tools for embedded devices.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems teams to expose interfaces to hardware.
• Write scalable, high-quality, maintainable code and automate build, deployment, and tests.
• Participate in peer reviews and open source community activities.
