Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an embedded firmware engineer to develop the board support package for its test instruments. You will architect and implement Linux BSPs, device trees, and userspace tooling with a focus on reliability, performance, and test automation.

You will work with cross-functional teams across Hardware, Software, and Systems Eng to deliver scalable, maintainable code in a hybrid role onsite three days per week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software development
• Proficient in C and C++ (11 or newer)
• Embedded Linux BSP development experience (Devicetrees, u-boot config, building Linux on embedded systems)
• Application development in Linux environments
• CI/CD tooling and integration experience
• Strong programming in C/C++, plus scripting (Python, Bash)
• Familiarity with Git, CMake, Yocto, Docker
• Knowledge of hardware protocols (I2C, SPI, PCIe, Ethernet, USB) and debugging
• Experience with open source communities (Linux kernel, u-boot) and cross-functional teams
• BS degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field from a top institution

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, verify, and validate Linux BSP and userspace tools for Teradyne instruments
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering to provide interfaces to complex hardware
• Develop scalable, high-performance, maintainable code and contribute to test automation
• Build, deploy, and test software in lab environments, ensuring reliability of embedded systems
