Job summary

InPwr, Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking an Electrical Estimator to analyze blueprints and determine material, fixture, and labor quantities for bids. You may lead a team bid or assist the Estimating department with client outreach and business development. Hybrid or on-site at our Denver location are available.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (electrical engineering, construction management, etc.) or an Electrical Journeyman’s License.
• Minimum (5) years of electrical industry estimating experience.
• Experience in mission critical, large commercial, or water treatment is preferred.
• Good quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Proficient reading of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets.
• Experience in layout of electrical equipment and systems, including one-lines and feeder/branch analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; patient to explain concepts to others.
• Time management and ability to handle multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create / revise estimates, proposals, and change orders for current and prospective jobs.
• Work with Preconstruction and Operations to build accurate labor, time, and materials in proposals.
• Identify project cost trends to aid cost reduction and process improvements.
• Responsible for project handoff between estimating and project management after award.
• Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and confirm specifications and quotes.
• Perform takeoffs for assigned projects.
• Assist and/or lead team bids, including bid documents and indirect costs.
• Perform design/build bids with Engineering to finalize costs and design.
• Weekly outreach and follow-up on pending bids.
• Bid volume of $6M-9M monthly; ensure accuracy and clarify questions early.
