Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is hiring for an Entry-Level Design Technician (Hybrid) to support electric utility projects in field and office settings. Responsibilities include design work, drafting, and field data collection to enhance grid resiliency and wildfire mitigation efforts.

You will work with GIS/CAD tools, assist with computations, and liaise with crews and landowners. The role offers growth in a supportive team within the Leidos family and a disciplined, safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in utility design, electrical drafting, or related fields.
• Experience with GIS platforms (e.g., GE Smallworld) and AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and grid resiliency: create electrical distribution designs from initiation to completion.
• Technical drafting: produce/update construction sketches and joint-use drawings using GIS/drafting tools.
• System engineering support: perform basic design calculations and equipment placement to meet standards.
• Field engineering: visit sites to verify assets and collect design data.
• Project management: track lifecycles, manage materials and coordinate with crews.
• Customer relations: serve as a point of contact with landowners and construction teams.
