Placements24 client, a reputable engineering consultancy in Paarl, Western Cape, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to design and specify electrical systems for diverse building projects. Hybrid role combining office collaboration with remote work is offered.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 4+ years' experience in building services, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, with strong lighting design knowledge and SA standards familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Strong knowledge of lighting design principles and software (Dialux).
• Familiarity with South African electrical standards and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for new buildings and renovations, including lighting, power, fire alarm, and communication systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Conduct load calculations, lighting level analysis, and energy efficiency assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS regulations, building codes, and relevant standards.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants to integrate electrical systems.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and assist in tender processes.
• Conduct site visits to monitor installation progress and resolve design-related issues.
• Perform technical reviews of contractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in building electrical services.
