Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the distribution design team. The role combines three days in-office with two remote days, supporting design, field activities, and client interactions for 4 kV through 38 kV systems.

The position requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and bilingual Spanish/English. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree and 2+ years in electric utility distribution or equivalent.
• Ability to review others' work and lead project teams effectively.
• Familiarity with NESC/NEC/IEEE and GIS tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/Review construction sketches and work packages for overhead and underground distribution facilities (4 KV through 38 KV).
• Pole loading analyses.
• Voltage drop and flicker calculations.
• Cable pulling.
• Bill of material.
• Cost estimates.
• Joint use coordination.
• Traffic control plans and/or permit drawings.
• Support preliminary project scoping.
• Perform field work.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan modifications to the system as well as designing and overseeing complex tasks.
• Provide construction support.
• Conduct client communication and interaction.
