Job summary
Xcel Energy for Minnesota is seeking an entry-level Distribution Designer to provide design project management for the least complex areas, serving as the primary contact for customers and coordinating with construction teams.
The role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities to grow within the company while upholding safety and design standards. A relevant associate degree or equivalent experience is required.
Qualifications
- Assoc. Degree in drafting, design, automation, electronics, mechatronics, engineering, GIS, or related field.
- In lieu of degree: education and experience in design/drafting, construction, or electronics.
- Working knowledge of GIS, design software, work management programs, and related systems.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial customer contact to post project analysis.
- Design safe operating facilities and provide cost-effective distribution design.
- Obtain permits/easements and execute contracts per guidelines.
- Represent the company with officials, contractors, and engineers.
