Job summary

Ballet Hispánico in New York City is seeking a Director of Development to lead all fundraising activities, including major gifts, foundations, and events, working closely with senior leadership and the board. The role oversees a small development team and partners with the executive team to expand philanthropy and community engagement, while advancing Ballet Hispánico’s mission and Latino cultural impact.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit institutions.
• Track record of achieving fundraising growth.
• Experience with major donors and high-net-worth individuals.
• Strategic planning and board collaboration.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Chief Managing Director and the Artistic Director and CEO to shape the organization's fundraising strategy and priorities.
• Oversee donor cultivation and stewardship across individual giving, foundations, corporations, and government funding.
• Manage the development team and budget, ensuring effective operations and accountability.
• Lead the annual gala, campaigns, and special events; develop and implement a comprehensive development plan.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors and other leadership to engage in governance and fundraising activities.
• Ensure the organization maintains best practices in donor relations and reporting.
