Enlighten seeks a DevOps Engineer Intern who will enter senior year or final semester after summer 2027. The role involves maintaining big data systems, automation, and cloud tooling in a fast-paced, small business environment. Hybrid schedule with some on-site work in Columbia, MD.

The ideal candidate has Bash scripting, Git, AWS, Kubernetes familiarity, and strong problem-solving skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work autonomously.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with at least 60% of credits; degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
• Comfortable working on a Linux command line.
• Self-motivated – address gaps in execution or capability without explicit direction.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly.
• We will require hybrid work with 1-2 days/week at Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and upkeep of distributed computing systems and configuration management automation.
• Scripting in languages such as Python and Bash for automation and development of product features.
• Troubleshooting customer reported issues in applications and providing support.
• Engage in quality assurance testing.
• Other duties as assigned.
