Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a DevOps Engineer Intern who will join a fast-paced environment to maintain and update big data systems automation and cloud management tooling. The ideal candidate is entering senior year or final semester after the summer 2027 internship, with hybrid work and some on-site collaboration in San Antonio, TX.

The role involves scripting in Python and Bash, troubleshooting issues, QA testing, and other duties as assigned in a small business setting.

Qualifications

• Clearance requirement: Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 60%+ credits completed.
• Bash scripting proficiency.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
• Comfortable working on a Linux command line.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
• Hybrid work requirement: average 2 days/week in San Antonio, TX office.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance Requirement: Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, but not required on day one; U.S. Citizenship required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with at least 60% of the required credits completed. Degree must be in Computer Science or related field.
• Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
• Comfortable working on a Linux command line.
• Self-motivated – a strong desire to find and address gaps in execution or capability without explicit direction.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues/ tickets accordingly.
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2 days per week at our San Antonio, TX office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior technical internship experience is a big plus.
• A Security+ certification is a plus, but not required.
