Job summary

UJA-Federation of New York is seeking a Development Assistant in the Philanthropic Leadership Group (PLG) to provide essential administrative support and analytical skills within the Stewardship and Philanthropic Services arm. You will back three PLG professionals and collaborate across the team on events, research, and donor engagement.

The PLG unit engages major donors for UJA’s annual campaign, coordinating programs and events for donors at the $25K+ level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and related administrative experience.
• Comfortable using technology and learning new databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Learn to navigate donor database.
• Generate gift reports using the database.
• Build internal relationships across departments to complete tasks.
• Assist in developing fundraising materials and gift processing.
• Staff in-person fundraising events and site visits.
• Maintain timely responses to donor requests.
• Track event attendance and RSVP communications.
• Support calendars, meetings, and phone communications.
• Document donor meetings and correspondence to keep records.
