Job summary

SAS in Cary, NC is seeking a Software Development Manager for the Developer Portal. You will lead engineers who build and operate developer.sas.com and the Azure infrastructure behind it, shaping a public-facing product for AI agents and human developers.

You'll own the portal's delivery roadmap, Azure footprint, and metrics, while guiding a high-trust team through modern web tech, security practices, and a strong focus on quality and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of programming or testing experience, incl. 1 year in a lead role.
• Experience building public-facing web apps with React.
• Experience deploying apps on Azure with IaC and CI/CD.
• Experience with at least two languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go).
• Experience leading development in Agile with Jira and Confluence.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day team operations, hiring, training, delegating work, and performance feedback.
• Own the delivery roadmap for the developer.sas.com frontend and coordinate with developers.
• Own the portal’s Azure footprint including hosting, identity, monitoring, and cost.
• Collaborate with product management, customers, and advocacy to define portal metrics.
• Lead AI-assisted development adoption and establish guardrails for code review.
• Drive agent readiness with machine-readable content, stable URLs, and discovery artifacts.
