Job summary

SAS is hiring a Software Development Manager in the Foundation Division’s Runtimes department, based in Cary, NC, with a hybrid work model. You will lead an engineers team working on data acceleration projects, collaborating with product management and strategic partners to deliver fast, secure SAS analytics software.

You will drive planning and execution for medium-complexity projects, hire and mentor staff, and ensure adherence to security standards while advancing R&D practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Eight years of related programming or testing experience, including one year in a leadership role.
• Proficiency with SAS, C/C++, SQL, Java, Go.
• Experience with databases and collaboration tools Jira and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC and enterprise system development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day team operations and priorities.
• Lead hiring, training, and performance feedback for the team.
• Collaborate with product management and customers to understand requirements.
• Break down planned work into granular tasks for scheduling.
• Coordinate with other managers to ensure quality and consistency across components.
• Manage and prioritize development projects and report status to management.
• Ensure security policies and development standards are followed.
