Job summary

The American Academy of Dermatology in Rosemont, IL seeks a Senior Specialist, Science & Research to support evidence-based clinical guidance and the research data request process. You will work with clinical guidance and physician committees, and provide programmatic logistical and technical support.

Responsibilities include conducting literature searches, drafting materials and position statements, preparing manuscripts for JAAD, assisting with budget processes, and supporting volunteer

Qualifications

• Four years of experience reviewing and summarizing scientific research from peer‑reviewed journals.
• Ability to evaluate scientific articles, medical writing, and statistical reports.
• Experience drafting materials and messages for diverse audiences.
• Preferred background in health care or medical research; dermatology knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to interpret data and understand clinical practice and public health implications.
• Strong project planning, time management, and collaborative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Academy's research request process and track workflow.
• Analyze dermatology literature and draft materials and position statements.
• Assist in budgets, grants, and Young Investigators Award administration.
• Provide scientific support to volunteer physician groups.
• Contribute to department projects and share expertise with the team.
