Jobot is seeking a Defense Litigation Attorney in Tempe, AZ for a hybrid schedule, handling complex defense matters for government-related clients. The role focuses on discovery, pleadings, depositions, and trial preparation to deliver exceptional client service.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from an accredited law school, an active AZ Bar license, 3–10+ years of litigation defense experience, and familiarity with Clio. Competitive compensation and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Arizona Bar license in good standing.
• 3-10+ years of litigation defense experience preferred.
• Background in insurance defense or complex civil litigation strongly preferred.
• Experience with Clio or other legal case management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Handle all phases of discovery, including written discovery, disclosures, document production, and document review.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation related documents.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategy and perform legal research for complex matters.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Participate in trial preparation, including exhibit management, witness preparation, and case development.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff to provide exceptional client service.
• Meet established billable hour expectations and maintain organized case management practices.
