Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Lead Engineering Technologist to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) across coal, natural gas, solar, and energy storage facilities. The role involves technical support for operations, maintenance and project work across multiple regions and technologies.

The SME will coordinate with OEM support groups, contribute to fleet-level standards and procedures, and guide station teams with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred; 6+ years' relevant industry experience.
• 8+ years with an Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 10+ years’ experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS) across multiple generation technologies and regions.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance and projects, coordinating with OEM groups and fleet-level guidance.
• Own fleet-level standards, practices, and procedures for DCS across Duke Energy facilities.
