Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks a Lead Engineer to serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS). The SME will provide technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects across multiple generation technologies and regions.

The role requires at least 8 years of engineering experience and an ABET-accredited BS in Engineering (PE preferred). You will lead efforts, develop fleet standards, and coordinate with OEMs such as Emerson Ovation, Siemens

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and PE
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
• A Master’s degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
• Strong engineering theories and principles
• Researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and presenting them
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Principles of project management
• Experience in the utility industry
• Experience with design, construction, commissioning, and/or process engineering support for generation facilities
• Experience with utility industry process control and automation equipment
• Experience with DCS equipment: Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, GE Mark VIe

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for DCS across multiple generation technologies.
• Provide technical support for operations, maintenance and projects.
• Coordinate communication with OEM support groups and fleet level guidance.
• Lead and mentor other engineers and ensure adherence to fleet standards.
