Job summary

City Cast DC is seeking an Events Manager to lead the live events program and connect with DC audiences through public and subscriber events. You’ll shape the events strategy, coordinate with the editorial and marketing teams, and manage budgets, venues, vendors, and staffing in a fast-paced newsroom setting.

Based in the DC area with a mix of remote and in-person work, you’ll build relationships with local venues, grow audience engagement, and help turn events into loyal members.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience planning and running events, ideally in media or related sectors.
• Experience with budgets, contracts, vendors, and logistics.
• Strong relationships with DC venues and community groups.
• Ability to manage a budget and measure results.
• Clear writer and communicator who can pitch partners and write event copy.
• Calm under pressure with multiple events and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own City Cast DC’s events program.
• Develop the local events strategy, calendar, and budget with the GM and national marketing team.
• Plan and run events across DC, including public and subscriber events.
• Handle events from concept to wrap-up: venues, vendors, ticketing, staffing, run-of-show.
